TOM & ANN AUSTIN
Tom and Ann have been with Mission to the World since 1983, when they answered God’s call to life-long missions in Africa.
In 2005 he became an area coordinator for MTW in theological education and leadership training in Sub-Saharan Africa. During their years in Africa, Ann was involved in a variety of ministries to women: teaching Bible courses, chronological Bible storying, prison ministry, and a speaking ministry to Christian women, as well as ministering with Tom on his travels around Africa.
Tom and Ann are now bringing their years of experience in Africa to the MTW Global Training and Development team of international missionaries committed to developing innovative strategies.
PETER & DIANE BAKELAAR
Peter and Diane have served in Japan since 1990. Peter's responsibilities include evangelistic Bible studies, discipleship, and communication of the gospel in Japanese through special events and messages. Diane serves in many aspects of the team's ministry including hospitality in the home.
The Bakelaar's are committed to knowing Christ and making him known among the Japanese.
PAMYLA BURRACK
From 1993 to 2014, Pamyla participated in church planting in Madrid, Spain. Church planting, worship, and discipleship are her passions. Upon completion of her work in Spain, she accepted an invitation to join MTW's work in Berlin, Germany,where she has served since 2015.
JOHN & KAREN STODGHILL
The Stodghills have served MTW as disaster relief workers since 2003. They became full-time missionaries in 2016 serving as church planters in the Bahamas where they saw God start a new church. In 2019, God called the Stodghills to Belize, Central America. John and Karen are using their organizational skills to help in the revitalization of current churches in Belize as well as leading Bible studies with plans for new church plants.
GARY & LOIS WATANABE
Gary was born and raised in Okinawa, Japan.
Lois was raised as a missionary kid in East Africa. They met at Columbia International University in South Carolina and became part of a PCA church plant as newlyweds in Hawaii. Gary then studied at Westminster Theological Seminary in California and was ordained in 1986. The Watanabes served in Mexico,
the Philippines, and New York before moving to Japan in 2015 to partner with emerging church planting networks both locally and in the greater Asia Pacific region.
